This beautiful Mom of three got up early to capture memories with her kids. We met up at 6:05 AM on Garden City Beach for a thirty minute family session. Gorgeous sunrise and the kids all did so well.
Sunrise offers some of the best lighting conditions for beach portraits for several reasons:
-
Soft, Diffused Light: The light at sunrise is gentle and diffused, reducing harsh shadows and providing a flattering, even illumination on the subjects' faces.
-
Golden Hour Effect: The time just after sunrise is part of the "golden hour," when the sun is low in the sky, creating a warm, golden hue that adds a beautiful glow to the photos.
-
Cooler Temperature: Early mornings are generally cooler, making it more comfortable for everyone involved, especially in the warmer seasons.
-
Less Crowded: Beaches are typically less crowded at sunrise, allowing for more privacy and fewer distractions or interruptions during the photo session.
-
Calm and Peaceful Atmosphere: The calmness and tranquility of the early morning can help create a more relaxed and natural atmosphere, which is conducive to capturing genuine expressions and moments.
-
Reflections and Colors: The low angle of the sun can enhance reflections on the water and wet sand, adding depth and interest to the photos. The colors of the sky and water can also be more vibrant and dynamic during sunrise.
